Nudges

Place one AI call to one person, now or at a set time, and follow it to a single result.

A nudge is one outbound AI call to one phone number. Your app can fire it through the API (for example “remind this patient about tomorrow’s appointment” or “tell this customer their delivery is out today”), or you can place one by hand from the console.

Unlike a campaign, a nudge is about one person. Unlike a plain test call, it has a lifecycle: OyeHello holds it until calling hours, can retry if nobody answers, gives up after an expiry time, and always ends in one result you can read on the page or receive by webhook.

Go to Telephony → Nudges in the sidebar.

Developers: everything on this page can also be done from code. See the Nudges API reference.

Fire a nudge from the console

Click New nudge. A side panel opens - “Place one outbound AI call now or at a set time.”

Field What to fill in
Agent A published outbound call agent. If you don’t have one yet, the panel tells you to publish one first.
Variables Values for the agent’s variables on this call, such as the customer’s name or appointment time.
Phone number An Indian mobile number. Local formats like 98XXX XXXXX are fine.
Caller ID Workspace default, or one of your numbers.
When Now, or Schedule for a time within the next 72 hours (in your workspace time zone).
If outside calling hours Hold until next window (default) or Don’t call.
Retries No retries, 1 retry or 2 retries. With retries on, choose No answer and/or Busy, and the Delay between attempts (10-240 minutes).
Reference (optional) Your own id for this nudge, for example order-1234. You can search by it later.

As you type the number, a live pre-check line tells you what will happen:

  • Clear to call now (or at the scheduled time).
  • Outside calling hours - it will be held until the next window, or won’t be called if you chose Don’t call.
  • Blocked - for example the number is on your do-not-call list, so it won’t be called.

Click Start nudge. The new nudge opens in its detail panel.

Calls start only inside the agent’s calling hours, and never after 20:55 IST.

The Nudges page

Summary

Across the top, for the selected date range:

  • Total - nudges created.
  • Connected rate - connected nudges out of finished ones.
  • Blocked - nudges a compliance check stopped. Hover to see which rule.
  • Minutes - talk time.
  • Spend - shown only to people with Analytics or Billing access.

Log and Board

Switch between two views:

  • Log - every nudge as a row: Created, Number, Agent, Source (Console or API key), Status, Outcome, Duration, Cost (Analytics or Billing access only), Attempts and Reference. Customer numbers are masked.
  • Board - pick an agent to see its nudge calls sorted onto that agent’s outcome board. See Dispositions & outcomes.

Search and filters

  • Search by number, nudge ID or reference.
  • Date range - Today, Last 7 days or Last 30 days.
  • Status - Queued, Scheduled, Dialing, In progress, Finished.
  • Result - Connected, Voicemail, Opted out, No answer, Busy, Failed, Blocked, Expired, Cancelled.
  • Agent.

Cancel pending cancels every queued or scheduled nudge (or only the selected agent’s, when an agent filter is set). Nudges already being dialled are not affected, and it can’t be undone. Export CSV downloads the filtered list; it’s available to nudge admins and holds the newest 10,000 rows.

The Do-not-call list link at the top opens Contacts filtered to numbers that must not be called.

Statuses and results

Status is where the nudge is now:

Status Meaning
Queued Due now; about to be dialled.
Scheduled Waiting - for its scheduled time, the calling window, a retry, or a reason like a low wallet balance.
Dialing The call has been placed.
In progress The person answered and is talking to the agent.
Finished Done. It now has a result.

Result is how it ended:

Result Meaning
Connected The person answered and spoke with the agent. The Outcome column shows the agent’s disposition.
Voicemail Voicemail answered.
Opted out They asked not to be called again and were added to your do-not-call list.
No answer / Busy Nobody picked up, or the line was busy, and no retries were left.
Failed The call couldn’t be completed - for example an invalid number.
Blocked A compliance check stopped it. The outcome column names the rule.
Expired Its expiry time passed before it was ever dialled.
Cancelled You cancelled it.

When a nudge is held or ends without connecting, the Outcome column explains why in plain words - for example “Outside calling hours”, “Wallet balance too low” or “Agent is not published”.

The detail panel

Click any row to open it:

  • Cancel nudge - while it hasn’t been dialled.
  • Timeline - created, scheduled, held, each attempt’s compliance check, start, answer and end, then the final result. View call opens that attempt in Calls.
  • Call - the outcome, and for people with Analytics access the recording, transcript, summary and captured fields.
  • Request - the variables, metadata and settings (caller ID, calling-hours choice, retries) the nudge was created with.
  • Webhooks - each webhook delivery for this nudge, with its status. Owners and admins can Replay a delivery. See Webhooks.

How a nudge behaves

  • Calling hours. A nudge is only dialled inside the agent’s compliance-pack calling hours, and no call starts after 20:55 IST. With Hold until next window, a nudge that’s due outside hours waits for the next opening. With Don’t call, it isn’t placed.
  • Retries. By default a nudge is dialled once. With retries on, an unanswered (No answer) or Busy attempt is tried again after your delay, up to 2 more times. Answered calls, opt-outs and blocks are never retried.
  • Expiry. A nudge gives up after its expiry time (24 hours by default through the API). A nudge still waiting then finishes as Expired. A retry that would land after expiry isn’t made; the nudge finishes with its last result.
  • One live nudge per number. While a nudge to a number is still pending or on the call, you can’t start another one to the same number.
  • One result. Every nudge ends with exactly one result, and connected calls are sorted onto the agent’s outcome board like any other call.
  • Cost. A nudge is billed like any other call, per started minute from your wallet. Unanswered, busy, failed and blocked attempts cost nothing. See Billing & wallet.
