Cal.com
Let an agent check availability and book meetings on a Cal.com event type during a call.
Cal.com lets an agent do more than talk about scheduling - it can check availability and book a meeting on one of your Cal.com event types, live, mid-call. Like the other schedulers, it’s connected per agent, by whoever owns that agent - no workspace admin needed.
What it does
Once connected, an agent gets two mid-call tools:
- Check availability - looks at open times for the connected event type before offering a slot.
- Book meeting - creates the booking on Cal.com once the caller agrees on a time. Standard Cal.com notifications, calendar invites and workflows run exactly as if the booking came from your Cal.com page.
Both happen live, during the conversation.
Per-agent, self-serve
Cal.com is connected on the agent, by the agent’s owner - not once at the workspace level.
- Anyone with edit access to an agent can connect their own Cal.com account to it - no
settings:adminpermission required. - Each agent points at exactly one connected Cal.com account and one specific event type on it (your “30 minute meeting”, “Intro call”, etc.).
- Connecting one agent has no effect on any other agent - different agents can each use a different person’s Cal.com or a different event type.
Connect Cal.com
- Open the agent in the builder and save it once - the connection is tied to the agent’s id.
- Find the Scheduling card. For prompt-based agents it’s in the Tools step; for multi-prompt / flow agents, the same card is in the flow’s settings.
- Choose Cal.com and click Connect. A Cal.com popup opens - sign in and approve access.
- Once approved, the card shows the linked Cal.com account.
- Choose which event type the agent should book from the Choose event type dropdown, then save the agent.
The agent now checks availability against - and books - that event type.
Tip: to point the agent at a different event type later, use Change on the card.
What Cal.com access is requested
The connection only asks for the narrow access booking needs:
- View your event types - to list them in the picker and know which one to book.
- View your personal info and primary email - used once, to label the connection with your Cal.com email.
That’s it. Checking availability and creating a booking use Cal.com’s public scheduling endpoints and need no extra permission, so the connection never asks to read or manage your existing bookings.
Reconnect
If the connection is revoked on the Cal.com side, the card shows a prompt that the connection needs to be reconnected. Click Reconnect on the same card and approve access again - the agent’s chosen event type isn’t lost.
Disconnect
Disconnect from this agent on the card removes only this agent’s pointer to the event type. It does not revoke the underlying Cal.com connection or affect any other agent - each agent’s connection is independent.
For admins: Cal.com scheduling requires a Cal.com OAuth client registered for the platform (client id + secret, with the redirect URI pointing at the API’s
/integrations/oauth/calcom/callback). On the OAuth client, enable View booking links (your event types) and View personal info and primary email address - nothing else. The connector sits behind the integrations feature.
